Harrison was telling him that he cut his sandwich wrong. The sandwich that Hayden had just made for himself. Harrison likes to enter into very deep detailed discussions about every single thing. He told Hayden that research shows that if you cut the sandwich diagonally, it tastes better. Hayden hit the floor laughing. Literally. On the floor laughing his ass off. After several minutes of rolling and laughing, he got up and said, let me get this straight... you are telling me that if I cut this sandwich in a different way, using all the same ingredients, it will taste better?? Harrison said yes, and Hayden said, that’s bullshit. I wanted to stand on the table and say finally!!!!! But I just sat back and let the conversation happen. Harrison went on to explain how people just like the look of a sandwich cut diagonally and therefore, it will taste better. And Hayden said, well, I like the look of my sandwich cut like this and he pointed to what was left of his sandwich. That shut Harrison up for about one minute.
Harrison wanted to do everything, but didn’t want to get out of bed in the morning. He stayed up all night several times playing video games and doing who knows what. I’m gonna be nice here and say that he was grumpy. Just grumpy. Grumpalicious. Most of the trip. He did enjoying cooking with his Moster Ruth. He enjoyed kayaking, until he announced that he didn’t like water or being wet. He liked Copenhagen and declared it to be the busiest, most diverse city that he has ever seen in his entire life. People just walking everywhere, he said. I asked, what about Chicago?? There are tons more people there. Nope, he contested. I looked at Henry, who loves Chicago, and said, help me out here bro. He looked at me and said, I haven’t been downtown in a long time mom. My head almost exploded. I just took you to the Chicago Blackhawks conventions last summer!!!! We walked from the hotel on Michigan freaking avenue to the Navy pier. I give up.

So Henry. Henry probably made the most of the trip. He likes to be outside. He doesn’t sleep much or like to sit and play video games for hours. He loved the kayaking. He especially loved the zoo. He took lots of pictures of the wolves at the zoo. Last night, he finally let me see all of his pictures. He took a bunch and shared them with me. Some of the pictures were really good. All of the pictures in this post, were taken by Henry (except for the duck pic). While we were in Copenhagen, he asked if he could buy a postcard to send to his aunt. He wanted to keep her updated on what we were doing. He also asked me to send him all the pictures I had taken of her. The twins and Moster Ruth share a birthday. He will never forget her. He unofficially wins the good son award for the trip.

The trip was fun but exhausting. I loved the bike tour of Copenhagen the most, but I love the small town that Moster Ruth lives in more than Copenhagen. She lives right on the water. It’s so quiet, minus the birds that are up at 2:30 every morning. The sun comes up at 4:30 and it gets dark around 11:00. Long summer days. The Danes make the most of them because they know the long winter days will be back.
