survival mode

I survived last week, but barely.  My back was giving out on me from all the stress and on Friday, I had to take my heating pad to work with me.  And that means that I had to sit down a lot.  I hate to sit down at work.  The students get off task and behavior issues suddenly appear everywhere.

I went to bed at 10 last night and I slept until 1 o’clock today.  I feel a lot better and maybe by tomorrow night, I will be ready for Monday morning!

We have a bunch of snow on the way.  I’m sick of snow and winter.  I want summer to hurry up and get here!

I started reading The Lost Symbol today.  I bought it over winter break and then lost it.  I found it last night under my bed.  What the heck?  I loved The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons.  I hope this one is just as good.

popcorn and cheese

Today was a long day and I really just want it to be over!  I’ve been going since 6:30 am thanks to Harrison’s love for early morning orthodontist appointments.

It really seemed like I did a lot today, but I feel like I got very little done.  I’m not sure that makes any sense, but it’s how I feel. My to do list is growing by the minute and it was already a mile long to begin with!

I worked until almost 7 tonight.  The twins had CHEESE and POPCORN for dinner and we barely made it to hockey practice on time.  Hayden complained and whined all the way to practice.  He just wanted to go home and play his XBOX.  stupid xbox…

Is it really only Tuesday?  I’m not sure that I’m going to make it to Friday.  I really want to sleep for a couple of days.  Are people allowed to hibernate?

Music Video

I watched the most AMAZING music video of all time this past weekend.  I'm sure it has been out for awhile, but I'm old and my three boys keep me kinda busy.   anyway.    Check It Out!

no french fries

I made the resolution to not eat any french fries this year.  I like to make simple resolutions that I can actually keep, but this one is killing me!  I want some fries so badly.  I think I thought about french fries for about 5 hours today!  The sad thing is that my friends jumped on the no fries wagon with me and now we are all suffering.  What a dumb idea, what was I thinking?

So, last night, I called my 14 year old and told him that I was going to bring pizza home.  He and his two friends had been home alone for about 3 hours.  When I got home, they were all 3 parading around the house in their underwear and they had t-shirts on that were about 8 sizes too small.  I laughed until I cried AND they let me take pictures of them!  I'm pretty sure that these pictures are going to be worth something some day!!!

I also found about 50 pictures of the boys that they took using photo booth.  If you don't have this, you have to get it.  It's amazing!  Here are a few of my favorites...

Henry and Hayden wanted to play, too!

no braces!

Ok, so as you know Harrison got his braces off recently.  He is being a total PUNK about letting me take his picture.  He runs. He screams.  It was a little bit funny, but I'm over it.

I had him trapped in the car this morning and I just started snapping away because he could not run!  But this is all I got....

So, I had to get creative.  I mean, seriously, you have to stay on your toes when you have a teenager!  I picked him up from wrestling practice and asked him if he wanted Chipotle....  tee heee  heee

Chipotle is a weakness for my son.  He will pretty much do anything to eat that food.  I made sure that he could see the place and smell it when I said, "I'm going to need a picture first."

He resisted, with lame excuse....  "I need a shower."  "I need my face to clear up."  blah blah blah...

"No chipotle until I get a picture."  I won, of course. So, here's the pics.

He looks so grown up.  It kinda made me a little sad.  And then he asked me if he could go to a sleepover at a girls house this weekend.   yikes.

long day

Today was good.  I worked a little, but mostly hung out with some amazing friends.  And by the way...  I like the word amazing.  I use it all the time.  There are two, very AMAZING songs out right now that are centered around that word.  Here is one...

I tried to watch a movie with Harrison today, but he was busy texting, listening to his ipod and chatting with people on facebook at the same time that the movie was playing.  So, I'm not sure that I can say that I watched a movie with him... or can I?

I'm ready to go back to work tomorrow.  I need some space from my children to truly appreciate them.

Tonight, for a snack, I had a bowl of Reese's Puffs cereal with a boat load of hershey's chocolate syrup poured all over it.  So, you know what that means.  You might want to keep some distance for a minute, if you know what I'm sayin....

Snow Day #2

I'm taking a break from my working on my unit.  I got some done today, not a lot, but some.  I did find several things today for my colleagues to use :)

Harrison got his braces off today.  He is very excited about this.  He has been taking pictures of himself and sending them to his friends all day.

I went to workout today at the Iron Pit.  Harrison went with me.  The roads are ok.  I'm really hoping for another snow day tomorrow.  I know this completely contradicts what I had to say in another post about snow days, but DANG, I have a lot to work on right now.

I did not go outside and play in the snow with the boys today.  We usually got sledding on days like this or at least go outside for awhile, but I had a lot to do and Hayden is sick.  So, I found some snow day pictures from 2004 to post.

I hope everyone enjoyed thier snow day.

i'm exhausted

I worked almost all weekend.  I think I graded papers for about 8 hours and I did a lot of research and planning for a big unit that we are planning for our students.  I'm so tired right now and that is not a good way to start my week.  I'm really hoping this snowstorm that is predicted for Monday night shows up!   I need a snow day or two to catch my breath.

I did take some time off to watch the Colts last night.  I had fun, but they lost.  I'm going to have to cheer for my 2nd favorite team now, the Bears.

Harrison gets his braces off this week.  He is pretty excited about this.  I can't wait to see his smiling face without the metal.

first day back

Ok....  so normally the first day back is awful, horrible, unbearable, but I had an amazing day.  I had a lot of fun and loved catching up with my students.

I have a great group of kids this year.  They are so sweet and fun.  I'm so excited and honored to have them (most of them) for 2 years.  I will never forget this group of kids.  Ever...

My school sometimes gets a bad rap, but I'm here to say, that most of the kids there are great, amazing and super smart.  I would not want to work anywhere else in Bloomington.
