I used to love to run. I think I still do, but I'm so out of shape that it's painful. I'm still trying my hardest to get back into it. I decided not to play co-rec softball this summer, so that I could sign up for some races. Last weekend, I ran the 5k Race to Wrigley and yesterday I did the mini. The Race to Wrigley was short and fun. The mini was long, cold, and rainy. I was soaked and frozen when I finished. I wanted to crawl back to my car. I dropped a pin on my maps to make sure that I could find my car after the race. Guess who couldn't find their car after the race?? I walked around for another hour in the rain. I wanted to cry, but I didn't have the energy.
I got a massage today. It was kinda painful. I had a lot of sore spots and this guy was bound and determined to get all of my knots out. He said, "tell me if it hurts." I told him, but he just kept on going. I'm hoping to be able to walk tomorrow.
Maybe I'll do the Run with the Foxes next. I've down that trail run a few times. I have lots of good memories there. Trail runs are fun. This might help.
