Kindness

One of my students wiped out big time in my classroom yesterday.  There was lots of blood and it freaked everyone out a little bit, including me.  A friend of the student that fell, gave him a get well card and a box of chocolates this morning.  The student that took the spill was so excited to get the card and chocolates, that he hugged his friend for well over a minute.  It was so sweet and it almost made me cry.  I have really great kids this year.

My own boys have been busy making their Valentine's cards, for probably their last Valentine's party ever.  They might have one as sixth graders, but it won't be the same.  Henry has already commented on how weird it would be to give another 6th grade boy a V-day card.  My boys are growing up and it's so depressing.  Henry wanted to make "special cards" for all of his teachers this year.  They turned out unbelievably amazing.  What a great kid!   I'm feeling pretty lucky to be the mom of these Streib boys lately.
